Welcome NMRC`s new member

It is our great pleasure to introduce Ausmap as the newest member of our consortium.

“Established in 2018, AUSMAP, a project of the Total Environment Centre, is Australia’s leading citizen science initiative for microplastic monitoring and assessment. Our team of leading researchers has developed a robust field-based method to assess and quantify types of microplastics (1-5 mm) from shorelines, by engaging over 1,600 volunteers at 370 sampling sites, with the largest database on microplastics nationally. The development and implementation of a consistent monitoring program provides robust data, leading to greater understanding of areas of concern, leading to successful mitigation”.

Dr Michelle Blewitt, Program Director.
