Dr Anastasiia Snigirova

Dr. Anastasiia Snigirova is a distinguished marine biologist with a Ph.D. from Odessa I.I.Mechnikov National University, awarded in 2015. After serving as a senior lecturer at her alma mater, she rose to prominence as the head of the departmnet from the Institute of Marine Biology of the NAS of Ukraine in 2019. Relocating to Australia in 2022, Dr. Snigirova joined Flinders University, pioneering research on the interactions between marine organisms and marine litter. Her groundbreaking work, focusing on microplastics in marine environemnt and its interaction with planktonic organisms, is conducted in collaboration with institutions such as SARDI and the EPA.
